About Us

Dickerson & White is a design project that hopes to turn waste into wares.

We do our best to make the most of overstocked, imperfect, and discarded yardage sourced from commercial design projects across the USA by our partners based in North Carolina.

Our design language is firmly rooted in mid-century inspirations—interiors, fine arts, and apparel—and the fabrics we use lean into those notions with selections from Kvadrat, Knoll, Maharam, and other producers that lean into all things modern.

Our products are made in Philadelphia. Not because we subscribe to any notion that manufacturing in the USA is better than anywhere else, but because we believe in building up and supporting your local community when and where you can.

Born out of a period of extreme burnout, the brand expresses the joy of creating things for others. It's an ode to the bevy of influences—Gropius, Eames, Cashin, Lawrence, Beene, Kelly—that taught me so much about enduring design. It's an ode to the feeling I got wearing a costume my mom hand-sewed for me almost three decades ago. To my grandmother, Florence White (nee Dickerson), who taught me how to hem a pair of pants.

Here's to hoping what we produce fills you with the same sense of joy and wonder.
